- Scope & content
- Series consists of black and white photographs by Toronto photographer Rudi Christl. They were created for the book "Toronto in Pictures and Words" by Rudy Christl and William Kilbourn, which was first published by McClelland & Stewart in 1977. Rudi Christl produced most of the photographs that were included in the book, while former city councillor William Kilbourn provided the commentary. The images document the everyday activities of Torontonians, city neighbourhoods, the natural landscape and the built environment. There is also a portrait of artist, Harold Town.
