Scope & content
Series consists of original colour transparencies of Toronto in the 1970s created by photographer Rudi Christl during that decade and through to 1983. His work captures aspects of Toronto life, and showcases the diversity of buildings, neighbourhoods, people, and natural environment of the city. Included in this set are buildings on the University of Toronto campus, such as Hart House and Convocation Hall; Osgoode Hall; Scarborough Civic Centre; Spadina Museum; the Grange; the Winter Garden Theatre; and the many towers in the city's financial district. Set includes street scenes in downtown Toronto as well as in Yorkville and the Annex neighbourhoods. Photographic portraits of author Sylvia Fraser, artist Harold Town, and musician Murray McLaughlan are also among the photographs in this series.
