- Letter: re petition of Indians of Lake of Two Mountains requesting 4,000 acres of land in the Township of Lawrence. Advises that under the Act 14 and 15 Victoria the Township of Maniwaki (River Desert) was set aside for these Indians and that is where they should settle. States if they are interested in agriculture, some Indian funds could be offered to them for that purpose. Ends by stating that if the Indians decide to move from the Seigneury of Lake of Two Mountains, it would be the duty of the Department to see they get some benefit from giving up those lands.
