What the image shows
An engraved copperplate map of North America, Central America and the Caribbean, drawn in fine black lines on pale paper and shown as a large sheet with folds across it. A smaller inset map of northern lands sits in the upper left corner, and a decorative cartouche with a title block and figures is in the upper right, with the words "AMERIQUE SEPTENTRIONALE" legible above it. Coastlines, rivers, lakes, mountain ranges and the Gulf of Mexico and islands of the Caribbean are drawn across the sheet, with a compass-like wind rose and decorative scale bar along the lower edge.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
