Scope & content
Cette partie d'un plan de Joseph Bouchette présente la grande région du Lac Champlain. Les subdivisions administratives sont précisées tandis que la frontière nationale est soulignée au pinceau. D'après une note de Philéas Gagnon, cette section de plan est tirée d'un document de 12 feuilles intitulé "Topographical map of the province of Lower Canada, shewing its division into districts, counties, seigniories & townships, with all the land reserved both for the Crown & the Clergy, &c. &c.". Titre basé sur le contenu du document. Le document est en anglais. La pièce porte les cotes 1G4409 et 38888.

What the image shows
This is an old printed map of a lake region, shown as a large sheet made of several joined sections and drawn in brown ink on yellowed paper. Lake shapes, hills drawn in hachured shading, and roads and a red-tinted border line run across the sheet, with place names written in capital letters over the landscape. A legend box sits in the upper left corner, and the map is framed by a double-ruled border with its edges visibly creased.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
