Scope & content
Cette partie d'un plan de Joseph Bouchette présente le secteur sud-ouest de la province du Bas-Canada et la grande région de Montréal. Les subdivisions administratives sont précisées tandis que la frontière provinciale est soulignée au pinceau. D'après une note de Philéas Gagnon, cette section de plan est tirée d'un document de 12 feuilles intitulé "Topographical map of the province of Lower Canada, shewing its division into districts, counties, seigniories & townships, with all the land reserved both for the Crown & the Clergy, &c. &c.". Titre basé sur le contenu du document. Le document est en anglais. La pièce porte les cotes 1G4409 et 38887.

What the image shows
This is a large, folded antique map with a hand-coloured boundary line, showing a section of land with lettering running across it in capitals, including the large word "UPPER" and "CANADA" set vertically along the left side. The landscape is drawn with hachured hills, shoreline outlines, and lakes, with place names and small symbols scattered across the sheet. A decorative title cartouche with a small inset table sits in the upper left corner, and the paper is browned and creased from folding.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
