Scope & content

What the image shows
This is an engraved portrait print showing a seated man in three-quarter view, dressed in ecclesiastical robes with a lace-trimmed white collar, a cross on his vestment, and a lace-edged cape over a silk garment. He holds a small book in one hand and a paper in the other, which bears the handwritten words 'Apologie et Appel'. Beside him stands a crucifix on a wall, a row of bound books on a shelf, and a heavy draped curtain forms the background. An engraved Latin inscription and a small coat of arms appear along the lower edge of the print.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
