Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

- Report reporting on meetins held be local Indian Superintendents and Fish and Wildlife Inspectors, together with District and Regional Foresters held at Dorset, Cochrane, Sudbury and Port Arthur. States that due to the lack of available territory south of the French and Mattawa Rivers it has been difficult to place many of the Indians on trapline areas. Says that many of these people are partially dependent on trapping for their livelihood although muskrat and mink are about the only fur-bearing animals left in southern Ontario. Advises that it was suggested that in the course of a few years it might be possible to provide trapping areas for some of these people in northern Ontario. States that there are 40 to 50 new trapline areas on three sides of Algonquin Park on which the beaver are just beginning to come back. States that 'The trappers are now largely dependent upon the fme fur that crosses the park boundaries to their areas ..." and that any loss of this would cause hardship. Reports on discussions concerning length of trapping season for various species and other recommendations for regulating the trapping program.
