- Scope & content
- Memorandum: concerning proposed reserve for Abitibi Indians, and stating agreement with choice of location. Discussing level of intrusion of settlers in their land. Further stating, in the context of including Ontario Abitibi Indians in population figures, that "Ontario, as you know, has already refused permission for Quebec Indians to trap in their province and to include these men in our scheme might result in the loss of their hunting territory in Ontario." Also indicating that Ontario Indians from Moose Factory hunt in Quebec and that Quebec Indians from Senneterre trap around Mattagami and Taibi Lake.
