The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 5 hours)
Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

- Letter: advising that a party of Algonquin Indians who are settled on lands in the Township of South Algona request the setting aside of certain lots for 60 of their families: Lots 5-10 in the 10th Concession and Lots 3-10 in the 9th Concession. Refers to letter from Mr. Harris, the local Agent dated July 27, 1856, which states these lots were at that time occupied by these people for forty years. Requests that they be allowed to purchase these lands at 10 cents per acre, as before, adding that they have had exercised important rights over these lands as part of their hunting grounds.
