Scope & content
Item consists of page 27 of the Boyd photograph album. There are nine photographs on the page, which are captioned as follows: 11998 - Col. Munro, C.O. 8th Mounted Rifles, who works with his sleeves rolled up; 11999 - Trumpeters of the Eighth Mounted Rifles dressed up for a "night out;" 12000 - A squad of 50 specially picked men detailed for duty in France; 12001, 12002, 12003 - The pride of the Mounted Rifle men is in their horses. At the Barriefield Camp the horses were splendid specimens and were well groomed and fed after every outing. There was always something doing in the horse lines; 12004 - Distributing oat rations by wheelbarrow. It is measured out to the men; 12005 - At the horse troughs, running water furnished fresh cool drinks; 12006 - Horse lines of the 7th Battery. The men are at dinner. The horses have had theirs.
