- Scope & content
- According to the architect, Harry Stillman, the lettering on the curved scroll-like panels were an integral part of the building. Several messages, three in Hebrew and one in Yiddish were chosen by the committee. Due to the fact that most of the workers who built the pavilion could not read Hebrew, Stillman drew up full scale drawings of the letters and numbered them. Recently, Stillman has said that to this day he still finds it disappointing that no critic picked up on this element, an element (the scroll) he considered to be the Pavilion’s highlight.
