What the image shows
This is an engraved plate showing the principal entrance of the Jacobins convent on the rue Saint-Jacques, drawn as a Gothic stone portal with pointed arch and tracery. Three carved statues stand in niches above the doorway, and through the open doorway two figures are visible: a robed monk on the left and a man in a long coat and hat on the right, walking within the passage. The printed caption along the bottom reads "Jacobins de la rue St.Jacques" with "Principale entrée" beneath, and the header reads "Histoire de Paris" with the plate number 21.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
