Scope & content
File consists of 32 photographs showing existing conditions along The Queensway, between Mimico Creek and Royal York Road, prior to widening. Many intersections along the route are documented. These consist of: Woodford Park Road; McIntosh Avenue, Berl Avenue, Moynes Avenue, Rosemeade Avenue, Inverleigh Avenue, Milton Street, Winslow Street, Penhurst Avenue, Morgan Avenue, and Royal York Road. Included are photographs of a stretch of small bungalows, on the north side, #629-641, between Inverleigh Avenue and Winslow Street. Among the north side businesses appearing in the photographs are: Wiltshire Grocery, #592; Clifford Furniture and Appliance Company; Village Cleaners, #660; Clifford Pharmacy, #668; McFarlane's Bakery, #718; a Royal Bank of Canada branch, #722; Queensway Home Furnishings, #728; Royal Drugs, #732; Mickey's Grill, #734; Advance Hardware, #736; and a Toronto Dominion Bank branch, #740. South side businesses include: Seaway Fish and Chips, #645; Walter's Grill; Reed's Tobacco, #711; Queensway Italian Food Market, #713; George Bevan Sports Centre, #725; and Ace Restaurant, #727.
