Scope & content
Subseries consists of photographs documenting the construction of the St. Clair Reservoir, located at St. Clair Ave. W and Spadina Rd. The St. Clair Reservoir is one of ten ground-level reservoirs in Toronto. It acts as a storage container for water, providing stable water pressure and ensuring an adequate and constant water supply for the district it serves. Additionally, the exterior roof has been landscaped as a park (Sir Winston Churchill Park) for area residents.Arranged chronologically, photographs provide general, detail, and panoramic views of the construction. Several images document cracks in the basin and overhead tank foundations.
