Scope & content
Subseries consists of early images of larger city parks that pre-date those found in Subseries 52, Parks Dept. photographs. This subseries also includes images of parks in Buffalo, Boston, and Rochester that may have been taken to provide ideas for changes and improvements to Toronto's parks. Also documented is the construction of Humber Boulevard in Etobicoke, presumably in conjunction with the development of the Old Mill subdivision by R. Home Smith. Old Mill was a planned subdivision that included park land as part of the development.
