Scope & content
Item is a digital image of the back of a trading card created by Anne de Haas to promote the Police Mounted Unit of the Toronto Police Services. The text on the back of the card reads: Winston is a 19 year old Percheron cross who has been a police horse since 1999, the longest of any horse in the Unit. His real name is Winter Sun, named during the Royal Winter Fair. Police Constable Philip Rea joined the TPS in 2004 and started at the Mounted Unit in 2013. Before he came to the Mounted Unit he served at 33 Division. PC Rea and Winston are patrolling at the base of the CN Tower on the grounds of the historic Roundhouse, now a railway museum and tourist attraction.
