Scope & content
Item is a digital image of the back of a trading card created by Anne de Haas to promote the Police Mounted Unit of the Toronto Police Services. The text on the back of the card reads: Elvis is a Percheron cross who has served since 2002. He was named in honour of Constable Elvis Zovic, a member of the unit who was killed in an accident. Police Officer Amanda Petticrew joined the Mounted Unit in 2006. She has worked in both operations and training. Prior to becoming a Mounted Officer she served at 11 Division. PC Petticrew and Elvis are exercising on the grounds of Exhibition Place near Lake Shore Boulevard. The police horses need a lot of exercise to stay healthy and happy.
