Scope & content
Item is a digital image of the back of a trading card created by Anne de Haas to promote the Police Mounted Unit of the Toronto Police Services. The text on the back of the card reads: Dorothy was born in 1997 and is a Percheron cross. She was named in honour of unit supporter Miss Dorothy Keith. PC Patrick Stauton joined the TPS in 2005. He has served at the Mounted Unit since 2013. PC Staunton and Dorothy are standing on the steps of the historic Horse Palace at Exhibition Place. The Horse Palace has been described as one of the finest Art Deco buildings in the City of Toronto and possibly in the nation. It has a rich history and after WW2 it served as a demobilization facility for Canadian troops.
