- Scope & content
- Item consists of page 56 of the Boyd photograph album. There are nine photographs on the page, which are captioned as follows: 13008, 13009, 13010 - Stretcher bearers of the 81st Battalion exemplify how a wounded man is taken care of, bandaging his broken leg, and preparing him for the base hospital; 13011, 13013 - There are several approved methods of carrying disabled men off the battlefield. Here are two of them; 13017 - 48th Battery doing riding drill in High Park; 13018, 13019, 13020 - Riding exercises cover not only proficient horsemanship, but the ability to select a route that renders the body inconspicuous. The men are shewn how a detour thro a valley is invariably preferable to a short cut over the hills. The photos shewn above illustrate how it should and should not be done.
