- Scope & content
- Item consists of page 55 of the Boyd photograph album. There are nine photographs on the page, which are captioned as follows: 12986 - Col. Bickford and Capt. Conover discuss bombing; 12987 - Patching up "Germans" who have been bayoneted; 12994 - Signallers spelling "123 Batt. Toronto" with flags; 13002, 13003, 13004 - Advance party of the 81st Battalion skirmishing in High Park. They are using dead grass on their caps, and hiding behind branches of trees, which they push before them. These blend into the surroundings so well that is difficult to see the men a hundred yards away; 13005 - 95th Battalion in extended formation, trying a few shots at Toronto's defenders, the 81st; 13006 - These are not dead men. They are holding the road, and will spring a surprise on any invader; 13007 - This is a close range fight. One man was shot in the face and lost his eyesight.
