We have forcefully protested to Prof. Carl Carstens, President of the German Bundestag. We have also asked Mr. Claus Schütz, the German Ambassador to Israel, to convey to his Government our dismay and forceful protest that a statute of limitations can even be considered for the perpetrators of genocide. In our opinion, this would mean a reward for those Nazi criminals who -so far- have evaded justice. We feel that especially today -when Nazism is raising its ugly head again all over the world- a statute of limitations for the prosecution of Nazi war criminals would make a mockery of all the Resistance movements fought for and the millions of people in extermination camps died for.PROTEST MEETING AGAINST THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR THE PROSECUTION OF NAZI WAR CRIMINALS. We have participated in the Protest Meeting in Tel Aviv on December 19th. The protest was initiated by our youth group in Haifa under the leadership of Maty Kochavi and Ofer Farkas, together with other Organizations. After the Meeting about 1,000 students marched to the German Embassy to hand over a letter of protest signed by several thousand people.INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN COPENHAGEN. Our Gen. Secretary Lilli Kopecky participated in the Conference of the Danish Freedomfighters and the International U.I.R.D. Conference in Copenhagen from August 27th to 30th. The meeting had been prepared with special care and every detail had been worked out meticulously and flawlessly; it has been a very positive and fruitful meeting and, as a result, the Resistance Movements U.I.R.D. and F.I.L.D.I.R. decided to work together from now on in close co-operation.We were privileged to pay respect to the Danish freedomfighters and in memory of their galant deeds we laid a wreath -bearing the name of our Organization- at the monument for their fallen heroes at Ryvangen Park.Read automatically; may contain mistakes.
