Scope & content
1 page, double-sided. Document is a form filled out by Sally Bähr on March 17, 1943, asking Louis de Kort to send him a weekly food package containing bread, jam, apples, cooked vegetables and potatoes in glass or cans, cooked noodles and soup bouillon cubes. The form is sent from Mechelen (Malines) transit camp, and Mr. Bähr's prisoner and transport numbers are written on the form. Narrative: Louis de Kort was the second husband of Mindla (Majerczyk) de Kort, grandmother of the donor. Sally Bähr was a tenant of the de Korts. He was deported from Malines to Auschwitz on April 19, 1943, as prisoner number 551 on transport XX. He jumped off the train but was caught. Transport XX arrived in Auschwitz on April 22, 1943. He was selected for labour and received prisoner number 117-475. Sally Bähr did not survive.
