- Scope & content
- Textured purse that closes like an envelope and fastens in the centre with a snap button. The sides of the purse are folded inwards, to allow for expansion when filled. The flap that closes the purse is cut straight across, and extends into a rectangle in the centre - There is a metal detail that should go on this centre rectangle, but has been detached: it follows the same shape as the leather flap (a wide rectangular 'U') with a piece of leather in the centre for decoration. On the reverse, in the middle, are 2 thin leather straps, connected with a metal piece in the centre. The purse is not lined. On the interior there are 2 pockets on the back panel and 1 pocket on the front panel; the pockets are lined with brown fabric. 3 metal keys were found in the front pocket (see cataloguer's remarks).
