- Letter: regarding his letter of December 24 re prosecution of [name of Golden Lake Band member] for a fishing offence in Algonquin Park States that the Province of Ontario is appealing the acquittal of [name of Golden Lake Band member] so he cannot comment directly on the merits of the decision. Refers to tripartite discussions between Canada, Ontario Game and Fisheries and representatives of Ontario status Indians, the purpose of which is to further an understanding of the nature of Indian fishing and hunting right and to work out acceptable arrangements for their recognition consistent with the needs of conservation.
