The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 5 hours)
Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

- Scope & content
- Letter: regarding case of [name of Native man] v The Queen re charge of hunting moose on Crown land during a closed season. States that the Williams Treaty, referred to in judgment of this case, concerns only the Chippewa Bands at Christian Island, Georgina Island, and Rama, while the Treaty of November 15, 1923, concerned only the Mississauga Bands at Rice Lake, Mud Lake, Scugog Lake, and Alderville. States that under these Treaties the seven Bands surrendered their aboriginal right to hunt over the area south of the French and Mattawa Rivers. Advises that the 1923 Treaties were made subject to the agreement of April of that year between Ontario and Canada which clearly excludes the Robinson-Huron surrender and that the broad wording was to provide for the surrender of any residual hunting rights retained by the seven Bands concerned which may have been recognized by Indian Bands covered by the Robinson-Huron Treaty.
