- Letter: referring to certain changes to take place regarding the Grand Lake Victoria Indian Hunting Reserve. Stating that O.C. to be recommended to exclude ten miles on each side of Mont Laurier Senneterre highway from the reserve. Also stating that Indians to be deprived of their trapping privileges in the area, that white people not allowed to trap fur-bearing animals there, and that no one to be permitted to hunt there. Giving (mainly fiscal) reason for these measures: that "no one could foresee the construction of the new highway. This road has now been completed and will cost several million dollars. The Province must therefore draw all possible advantage from the Fishing Preserve, but for sporting and tourist purposes exclusively." Further indicating that Indians will be able to work as guides in area, which should therefore compensate the loss of their privileges. Also, three sanctuaries have been set aside, in which only Indians may trap beavers.
