- Scope & content
- Letter: re claim by Mississaugas of Alnwick and other Indians for compensation for land used for settlement and not included in any surrender by them. States that the claim had previously held validity as there was no evidence of surrender by the Indians of this land. Advises that he and Mr. McKenna had decided that the claim should be dismissed as there was no evidence that the Indians ever had a claim to the alleged hunting grounds. No surrender was taken because the land was not their hunting grmmds but belonged to other Indians. Refers to Case 5 of Joint Report.
