The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 4 hours)

Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

Scope & content
Letter: responding to his letter with petition from Indians of Rivers Rouge and North Nation wishing to be given 2,000 acres in the Township of Labelle. Advises that Quebec owns these lands and the Indians would have to purchase them but the Dept. might help with the instalments upon the Crown Land. States that 700 or 800 acres should meet the needs of the number of Indians. Requests a statement of implements and seed grain required by these Indians adding that the Dept. only provides them in circumstances of extreme poverty.
