- Scope & content
- Letter: advising that instead of one Dept selling land to another, the proper approach is to get an Order-in-Council setting apart these lands for the use of the Indians. States that if the lands are to be sold this could be done through Crown Lands with the consent of the Indian Department but if lands are to be held in trust for the Indians by the Indian Department, then the usual mode of setting apart the lands as Indian ·Reserves ought to be continued. Adds that the demand for such reservation may emanate from the Indian or from the Lands Department.
