- Scope & content
- Petition #9876: for a grant of 200 acres each on the shore of Golden Lake. [Docket front only] Note says: "See inspection of Algoma" and another "[one line illegible] How long have they been there". Petition states that they have lived in the vicinity of Golden Lake on the BonneChere River for many generations and that they can no longer earn their subsistence by hunting now that their lands have been opened up for settlement and they are unable to purchase the necessary land for farming. States that by the sale of their hunting grounds they are now losing their only means of support and request a grant of 200 acres of land to the five heads of families on the shore of the Jake where they have so long resided.
