Scope & content
Petition: re five islands in the Ottawa River, Township of Nepean containing from 10 to 15 acres for which he has a 99 year lease and pay an annual rent of £5 to Algonquin Chief Tenesi and Nipissing Chief Laurent Kioinkig. Complains that unauthorized persons are now occupying these islands and states that he has been informed that since the Indians from whom he leases the land are not incorporated, he would not be able to enter any legal action against the trespassers. Requests patent to said islands from Her Majesty the Queen or some other authority to hold them.
