- Scope & content
- Letter: forwarding transcript of proceedings of Council held with the Algonquins and Nipissings of the Lake of the Two Mountains on Sept. 4, 1841. Responds that he is uncertain about how much it would cost to settle these two Tribes on Isle aux Allumettes, but states that the amount paid to settle the Ottawas on Manitoulin Island should be sufficient. Adds that they might need assistance with provisions for two or three years, as they do not have the abundance of fish present at Manitoulin.
