The website of Queen's University Archives is down (for about 4 hours)
Its images and links won't load until it's back. Panarchive shows each image straight from the archive's own website, so when that site is down the picture can't be shown here. Nothing is lost: everything returns once the archive is back up, and we check every few minutes.

- Letter: re petition of the Algonquins of Three Rivers re encroachments on their hunting grounds. Advises that it appears they are not aware of the decision of the Grand Council of the Six Nations held at the village of Caughnawaga on the 5th July 1830 wherein it was decided that the right of hunting on the north side of the St. Lawrence River should be free and open to the Abenakis and other tribes. Refers to instructions from Sir James Kempt dated July 2, 1829 re a similar complaint of the Algonquin and Nipissing Tribes of the Lake of Two Mountains. (Next to this is marginalia signed by Chas. [Miller?], Chief Secretary, Aug. 9, 1838 "Instructions of 2 July 1829 to be observed."
