- Letter: re Campbell's letter [not found] with minutes of proceedings with St. Regis Indians [see 1784/04/02. indexed above]. Sorry to see that they are so obstinate in keeping part of the tract they claim. Will be inconvenient for settlers, but probably best to leave them some land. Indians must be made to understand that this is an indulgence, and not their right
