Deux copies d'une lettre où R. E. Caron annonce à W. H. Draper qu'il ne viendra pas à Montréal suite à l'annonce du départ du Gouverneur Metcalfe. Le climat politique risquant de changer avec ce départ, il propose à Draper de communiquer désormais directement avec Morin et La Fontaine sur l'organisation d'un nouveau ministère. Il se rend toutefois disponible au besoin. Titre basé sur le contenu des pièces. Les documents sont en français. Les pièces portaient originellement le numéro 000437.
