What the image shows
This is an early eighteenth-century style engraved map printed on paper, showing northern regions with a large upper map of the northern hemisphere and polar lands, and a smaller lower map of island chains and coastlines. The upper map has a decorative title cartouche at the top and dense hand-lettered place names, rhumb-line and meridian networks, and dotted boundary lines across the landmasses. The lower map is framed by a central panel of text with two side columns of printed explanatory text, and a faint pencilled note appears in the top right corner.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
