Scope & content
Mrs. Gordon's house, Queen Mary Road, Montreal, QC, 1906: the house seen through the trees from the lawn. The negatives II-161107 to II-161112 form a single 1906 Wm. Notman & Son commission for "Mrs. Gordon" of Queen Mary Road, Montreal: Edith Annie Gordon (née Brooks), wife of the industrialist and banker Sir Charles Blair Gordon. Their house was "Terra Nova", the neoclassical villa built in 1848 for John Molson Jr. on what was then St. Luke Road in Côte-des-Neiges, now the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal pavilion of Saint Joseph's Oratory. Gelatin silver glass plate negative, 20.3 x 25.4 cm. Notman Photographic Archives, McCord Stewart Museum, II-161111.
