- May 13th,1935.Dear Judge MacGill,Hon. Sec.I am instructed to write you to ask if you would be a guest of honor at the Ann meeting of the League for Women's Rights of Montreal.I regret that as yet we can give no definite word as to the date or the nature of the meeting. We are anxious to have Miss Perkins present,and it is impossible at present to discover how long she will be in Montreal. She is scheduled to address a General Session of the Conference of the National Council of Social Work at a dinner meeting at 8:30.on Monday June the tenth,and it is probable that our meeting will take the form of a reception afterwards. We are anxious to make our occasion an occasion for the meeting of notable women of the United States and Canada.We are hoping you will be able to accept,and I shall write as soon as I can give you more definite information. Our League is the only organization of women in Montreal which is entirely devoted to the promotion of social legislation in the city,province and Dominion,and we should feel honoured by the presence of one who has done as much public work as yourself.Trusting yourself will be able to reply favourably,I remain,yours faithfully,Read automatically; may contain mistakes.
