Janin, Sup't,Montreal Water Works,City Hall.Dear Sir:-City Surveyor.Confirming yours of even date in reply to mine of the 1st instant, in re pipe laying and macadamizing work in Milton Street, between St.Urbain and University Streets, I beg to state that in the list submitted by you on the 14th of June last, Milton, between St.Urbain and a point about 100' west of Mance, appears in the 1st category, and the portion of Milton Street, west of the above point to University Street, appears in the 3d category, which category includes streets wherein it is proposed to lay water pipes at some future time, but it does not state when such proposed pipes shall be laid, and the information it contained is too vague to be of service to me.I wish you will in future endeavor to forward me a list of the streets wherein your Department shall lay pipes soon after the appropriations to defray the cost thereof will have passed council. Such a list would enable to know positively the location of the streets wherein water pipes will be laid.Yours truly,Read automatically; may contain mistakes.
