- Scope & content
- Series consists of glass lantern slides taken by William James, Sr. mostly of Toronto scenes, but also including some other Canadian locations. Some of the images may predate James' emigration from England and show the British countryside. Most of the lantern slides are black and white images, but some have been hand-coloured by James, with varying success. Although some of the images captured on the slides are unique, many seem to be copies of photographs taken by James.
