What the image shows
A printed page from an illustrated newspaper, with two wood-engraved scenes of ice harvesting stacked on it and a column of small justified text between them. The upper engraving shows workers in heavy coats and caps sawing and ploughing a frozen river, one leading a horse harnessed to a plough while others cut blocks of ice with long saws, with a distant town skyline behind. The lower engraving shows a horse-drawn sledge loaded with large blocks of ice being moved beside a wooden icehouse with a steep sloped roof, where workers stack and haul the blocks.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
