What the image shows
A black-and-white lithograph of an indoor scene in a wood-panelled room with a flag on the left and a large map hanging on the wall. A standing man in a long draped garment gestures with one arm toward a group of Indigenous men seated on the floor in a semicircle, some wearing feathered headdresses, while several European-dressed men in tailcoats stand and sit at the right. The printed caption along the bottom edge reads 'The Red Lake Chief, making a speech to the Governor of Red River at Fort Douglas', and the image is a printed engraving of a historical meeting.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
