What the image shows
A black-and-white engraved portrait of a man shown from the shoulders up and turned three-quarters to the left, with long, tightly curled shoulder-length hair in the style of the late seventeenth century and a loosely tied cravat at the neck. The head is set against a pale, empty background, and the figure's shoulder fades into shading at the bottom. Below the image are printed the word TALON, a small line of English credit text naming an engraver and a painting in the Hotel Dieu Quebec, and a handwritten number, so this is a printed engraving reproduced on paper.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
