What the image shows
A black-and-white reproduction of a dramatic historical scene set in an interior with a wooden table, a window frame and a chair. Several men in period military coats and uniforms surround a seated figure in a white shirt who gestures toward a sheet of handwriting, while other men lean and kneel in the foreground among scattered papers, a open box and a small bottle. Handwritten script in the upper right corner reads partly legibly as a letter beginning 'Montcalm dying dictates' and 'The humanity of the English', and a printed credit line at the bottom left reads 'Printed by The Graphic for the Victoria League, Millbank House, Westminster'.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
