What the image shows
An engraved oblique portrait of a bearded man with short hair, shown from the waist up in a dark buttoned garment with a white collar. The image is a printed engraving on paper, with a lettered caption band beneath the figure reading in old-style script that it is a true portrait of a named man aged about forty and dying in March 1646, followed by the engraver's name. A faint watermark-like credit line reading Archives de Montréal appears in the lower right corner.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
