What the image shows
This is an engraved print with an oval portrait medallion at the top showing a man in a military coat with a sash, shown three-quarter view and set within a decorative frame of foliage and beading. Below is a smaller scene of a dying officer laid on a cloth-draped bed or ground, attended by a group of companions and soldiers, with figures and fighting in the background. A printed caption runs beneath the portrait and a further line of small engraved text appears under the lower scene, with handwritten and stamped catalogue numbers in the bottom margin.Described automatically by a vision model; may contain mistakes.
