La pièce est une photographie prise par M. Saint-Michel, photographe officiel de la Ville de Montréal. On y voit l'arrière de l'édifice sise au 1671 avenue de l'Hôtel-de-Ville. Un bas hangar en avant-plan arbore deux pancartes "No parking. Private." Derrière ce hangar se dresse une maison de brique et des vêtements sèchent sur des cordes à linge.
