- 1. The inscription on the back of the photo says this: “Rush Additional Poppies to Ottawa by Aeroplane: So great has been the sale of Poppies in Ottawa that workers were yesterday faced with a shortage and through the courtesy of the Minister of National Defense an R.C.A.F. plane was dispatched to Montreal for additional supplies. The scene shows P. R. Cronsberry – President of the Ottawa Command, Canadian Legion, and other workers transferring cartons of Vetcraft Poppies from the plane to a trunk to be rushed to Ottawa Poppy Day Headquarters.
