Scope & content
Series consists of negatives and transparencies created by Ivaan Kotulsky. Included are colour and black and white negatives, in 35 and 120 mm formats, and colour transparencies in 35 mm format. Most of the images document downtown Toronto street life in the 1990s, with some images dated earlier and some later. The images are mostly of street people and people on the streets. Most of the images were taken in the area around Kotulsky's jewellery store, Ivaan, Lord of the Rings, located at 692 Queen Street West, in the Queen Street West and Bathurst Street neighbourhood. Other areas documented include Queen Street West in general, between Spadina and Palmerston avenues, Queen Street East, between Yonge and Church streets, and the area at and around the intersection of Yonge and Dundas streets, before and after the creation of Dundas Square.
